Dr Jennifer B. Rhodes, Clinical Director and Clinician

Dr Jennifer B. Rhodes is a licensed psychologist (California, New York), relationship expert and the forthcoming author of Toxic Insecurity: Our Search for Authentic Love. She specializes in working with highly sensitive teens and young adults who are exploring ways to manage their anxiety, empathic skills, and relational trauma stemming from romantic breakups or difficulties in the parent-child relationship. Dr. Rhodes also provides consultation for children and families going through divorce or families in need of a second opinion related to psychological/psychoeducational assessment in cases involving complex trauma, anxiety, ADHD or disruptive behaviour disorders.

Dr. Rhodes received her doctoral degree in clinical child psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University in 2008. She completed her APA accredited internship and her first post-doctoral fellowship in Infant and Preschool Mental Health at Tulane University Medical School where she was trained in attachment theory and relationship-based clinical intervention. During this time, she also received her Basic and Advanced Divorce Mediation certification at Loyola Law School. In 2010, Dr. Rhodes completed post-doctoral training in forensic psychology at the Institute for Violence, Abuse and Trauma. Over the years, Dr. Rhodes has presented to academic audiences on the assessment of parent-child relationships in the context of custody disputes with allegations of abuse and trauma as well as issues pertaining to copy with narcissistic partners. She has also managed a relationship coaching practice focused on teaching single adults the tools needed to develop conscious relationships. Dr. Rhodes is also a trained yogi and meditation instructor. Dr. Rhodes will be working with children and families under the supervision of a registered psychologist on the Wishing Star team pending reciprocal registration.
