Dr. Jillian Haydicky, R Psych. (BC #2208)
Dr. Jillian Haydicky is a Registered Psychologist who has experience supporting children, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Jill strives to provide a safe, warm and accepting atmosphere for all clients to talk, play and explore. She is committed to promoting resilience and improving relationships through the use of evidence-informed treatments that focus on the family system. She understands that it takes a village to raise a child, and she cherishes the opportunity to work closely with caregivers of all kinds.
Dr. Jill is particularly interested in the use of mindfulness for children and their parents. Dr. Jill has conducted several studies evaluating mindfulness-based interventions. The outcomes of Dr. Jill’s research studies suggest that mindfulness can help children and their parents improve their relationships, regulate their emotions, and cope with life’s challenges. Dr. Jill’s work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and presented at national and international conferences.
In addition to her work in counselling psychology, Dr. Jill also has a background in school psychology and is skilled at conducting comprehensive assessments to investigate learning challenges and developmental concerns. As part of this, she is committed to collaborating with parents and schools to better understand each child’s unique learning strengths and needs, and to generate recommendations to promote academic success and a positive sense of self.
